Thrive Communities, an experienced property management company, approached us to work on the naming, branding, signage and web presence for an apartment complex near Washington D.C. that they were renovating. The complex completely fit the bill of the area, offering a large pool, workout areas, BBQs and a lot of communal spaces for all of the warm days throughout the year.
The property had old waterwheels throughout the ponds in the central part of the complex and we only saw it fit to name it Wheelhouse, using the tagline "What's in your wheelhouse?". To each their own, and that's certainly true for the tenants here. Dogs allowed and amenities abound. The surrounding apartment complexes had very soft, dry colors and we decided to use something a bit more punchy to make Wheelhouse stand out. We used modern typography paired with a refined "water wheel" to modernize the mark.
