This project was one for the books. I have a knack for wine drinking, love the idea of it showing up at my doorstep, and appreciate the Cellars Wine Club team and their desire to modernize their brand and website in a way that would appeal to wine aficionados and novices. Their primary audiences vary and they brought on a stellar SEO team to inform us up front on who's looking, who's signing up and which pages could use a little finessing.
I pursued various logo concepts, some more modern, some more timeless and I'm very pleased with where we landed. The sharp serifs were pulled from this logotype to form a cluster of wine grapes. We've all seen grapes for wine logos... but have you seen any like these? There's a high-end feel to it with the mix of thins and thicks in the letterforms and mark. I also explored ways of combining the letters CWC for their monogram to be used for signature and exclusive applications.
The Cellars website was built in the latest Wordpress platform, with an intuitive ecommerce functionality and user interface that works well on all devices. The site showcases their branding and iconography while highlighting the most important aspect of this wine delivery schtick... the people who receive it.
